Early Nesting Tawny Owls

Early nesting Tawny Owls

Despite our harsh winters over the last 2 years, Tawny Owls are still nesting early.

On the 26th March 2010 we had 24 occupied boxes, 14 from Johns study area and 10 from my any other area.

The below photo is John ringing the young owls, with the size of the birds and counting back, the eggs were laid approx 8th February which is very early for this area.
